Zero-waste Rag Rug

These rugs are extremely durable mats made from twisted fabric strips; made completely from upcycled, unwanted fabric scrap. The resulting rug is thick and comfortable cushion to be used as a task mat, beside a bed, or even rolled up as a portable meditation mat.

Sapphire Fox believes in tackling the environmental impact of fabric waste by giving these unwanted materials new life. These rugs give fabrics new life while being entirely handwoven in Greensboro, NC on a simple frame loom making them American made, zero-waste, and zero-emission.

Each rug is entirely unique and all pictures are representations. If you have specific requests for the colors used or patterns, please, put them in the order comments or send an email to heather@sapphirefoxdesigns.com referencing your order number. Rag rugs are made to order, so please allow for up to two weeks to fabricate from time of order. If you order multiple at the same time in the same colors, we will do our best to use the same fabrics, so they coordinate.

These rugs can be machine washed, although the largest size may have issues in smaller machines. Lay flat to dry and flip, as necessary, until dry. For some flooring surfaces a non-slip rug pad is recommended (not included).
